about the slugs

The Slug team formed during the summer of 2006 and it is still active in Men's Leagues and Tournaments.   Our members serve and protect the communities within the three counties of Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties, which are south and west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  We have local police officers, state police officers, Fire and EMS personnel that represent numerous Townships, Boroughs and the State.

The Slugs have attended numerous Emergency Services tournaments and several charity tournaments all along the Mid-Atlantic region, with plans to attend many more.  Some of those plans reach deep into Florida and Nevada!!  Time will only tell though!

The Slugs also held a two game charity event for the American Cancer Society in March of 2009 where two teams of Slugs faced off against the Chester County Sheriff's team and the Berks County Enforcers, who are also made up of officers from their county.  Several Slugs (#55 &#39!) took command of this event and made it a huge success raising over $7000.00, well above the intended goal!  Many thanks go to those two teams, with out their help the event would not have been a success, thanks Berks and Chesco Sheriffs!! 

Plans are in the beginning stages for a September 2010 Breast Cancer event, sponsored by the Slugs.  Plus the Slugs will return the favor to the Enforcers and are going to be attending the Berks team's cancer event this March 2010!
